Steve has had over 20 years experience in many facets of engineering.
Early in his career he honed his skills in general production
engineering shops and in the assembling and disassembling of tower
cranes and other smaller cranes used in the
In the late 1980s he worked in the natural gas engine conversion
and testing laboratory at Auckland University. This led to his
time in Alaska working for Centurion Fuel Systems converting logging
trucks to run on natural gas fuel. On returning to NZ he was employed
by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Steve
then taught engineering until turning his skills full time to
marine engineering, reflecting his life time interest in boats.
